The Zoom G3Xn Guitar Multi-Effects Processor with Expression Pedal is a versatile and customizable pedal favored by many musicians. It provides 70 built-in effects, amp modeling, stereo effects, looper, rhythm section, and tuner. The unit can be used to plug a guitar with a passive output, boost the signal and plug headphones directly into the unit. There are 6-band EQ controls and some FX, like a few of the amp simulators, extend across two blocks allowing for more than four knobs to adjust the sound. The Zoom G3n has the scrolling option that makes selecting patches easier, provides more knobs for each effect, and gives the possibility of adding more effects to the effect chain. However, some of the amp emulators were taken out. The looper provides 80 seconds vs the 40 seconds you get on the G3. The Zoom G3Xn does not have battery power and no ability to act as an audio interface, which is the primary complaint by some. It is easy to use, labeled clearly, and built well. The Zoom G3Xn is excellent for jamming and taking it to sessions with friends. It is a versatile system that can be used in stomp mode, so it can be treated like three separate pedals that can be clicked on and off. Although the octave function has a real delay, and it is not quite as good as the boss oc3, it is still usable for simple lines.
