The handle is unfinished, allowing it to be oiled and is straight grain. The Pulaski comes without a sheath and weighs roughly 3.75 pounds. Some customers have had issues with the handle finish chipping away, rusty spots, and a poorly mounted handle. Others have experienced a loose head or experienced it breaking off.
