The Franklin Sensors Prosensor M50 Professional Stud Finder is a tool that has been well received by customers. It is manufactured in Boise, Idaho using global components and can detect both studs and metal, including conduit, in walls. The accuracy for detecting live wires is unclear. This product has 5 sensors and is able to detect live electric wires unlike the T6 which has 6 sensors but cannot detect live wires. This stud finder works equally well over plaster and lath as on wallboard. Although some users found that they needed to run it over a stud several times to get a good reading, others claimed that it was easy to use and very accurate. One user noted that the button malfunctioned after several uses. In general, customers were pleased with the product’s accuracy and usefulness, but some noted that it did not seem very sturdy for the price. One reviewer even had to modify the product in order to get it to work properly. Another user found that the Franklin Sensors Prosensor M50 was more accurate than their more expensive Stanley stud finder.
