The Seymour Duncan PA-STK1n Parallel Axis Stack is a single coil pickup that produces a strong sound with no noise. It has a "tubular tone" in the neck position and is rated as "medium" output, but is much stronger than standard single coils. This pickup performs well with clean amp settings for jazz chords and single note melodies and also performs well with medium gain settings for Hendrix and SRV impersonations. The pickup fits in a standard Strat cutout and has a modern voicing compared to a vintage style single. The end result is a big and tight sound that sings with mild to wild distortion. However, some customers were expecting more from the product.
