One side is diamond whetstone with 800 grit, while the other side is a fine ceramic whetstone with a grit equivalent to 800-1000. The diamond side is used for sharpening while the ceramic side is used for finishing the knife. It sharpens the knife like new and has been a best-selling item for Fallkniven.
