Puzzles & Games Editorial Review
The Pendragon Starter Set has garnered an overwhelmingly positive reception from customers, particularly those new to the game. Reviewers Consistently praise it as an excellent introduction to the mechanics and storytelling aspects of Pendragon, which stands as a beautifully designed game from Chaosium. Many appreciate that it includes a solo adventure, making it not only accessible but also engaging for beginners as they learn the rules in a hands-on manner. The aesthetic quality of the starter set is frequently highlighted, with customers noting its beautiful design, a hallmark of Chaosium’s products. This has led to strong recommendations, as many users feel the set offers great value for the price, suggesting that it’s a worthy investment for anyone interested in the game. However, not all feedback has been entirely positive. A reviewer reminisced about a fantastic map of medieval England included in the original edition, pointing out its absence in the current version as a disappointing omission. Additionally, there were concerns regarding the quality of the packaging, specifically for collectors who might expect a pristine condition to match the price point. In summary, the Pendragon Starter Set is a well-received product that effectively serves as an entry point for new players. Its combination of beautiful design and engaging gameplay mechanics makes it a strong recommendation, despite some critiques regarding content omissions and packaging quality. **
