We came here in our own mourning, but when we gathered around this emerald green bonfire, none of us were alone or helpless anymore.Like Yang Fei's birth, his death is astonishing and unusual. When he opens his eyes in the other world, he finds himself wandering in a fog. Yang Fei is dead and in limbo with other dead who have not yet been cremated or buried. During this seven-day purgatory march, he encounters those who died before or after him. He both listens to their stories and traces his own forty-one years of life on earth.
